Dr. Halloran is an Intellectual Property Attorney and Certified Licensing Professional with over 20 years of experience as inside (Sanofi Pasteur) and outside IP counsel for large, mid-size, and start-up pharmaceutical / biotechnology companies, universities, as well as independent inventors. Pat is experienced in patent and trademark prosecution, new product / acquisition target analysis, patentability and freedom-to-operate opinions, patent and license portfolio evaluation, license negotiation and drafting, as well as Paragraph IV / Orange Book / Hatch-Waxman- and inter parties review (IPR)-related strategic planning. Pat is the founding author of LifeSciencesIP blog (lifescienceip.wordpress.com), a site focused on US Federal Circuit Court of Appeals and USPTO IPR decisions.
Dr. Vacchiano brings a unique perspective to biotech patent law. In addition to over 20 years of life sciences patent experience, Manny is a biotechnology investor who runs a biotechnology stock research company and fund, His IP experience includes over 10 years as an in-house attorney at major public life sciences companies. His investing experience comes from over 20 years of investing in public biotech companies and as founder of Amp Biotech Research and the Amp Biotech Fund. Manny's technical experience includes a PhD in cell/molecular biology along with 10 years of life science research experience at a major university, a fortune 100 life sciences company, and the National Institutes of Health.
